BEIJING, 24 Feb - Comments from the medalists after the women's 3m synchronized springboard finals at the National Aquatics Center.
Guo Jingjing (CHN) - Gold medalist
On her performance:
"My performance was good. I am very satisfied with it."
On the developmental tendency of the sport:
"The divers are improving themselves. Foreign divers are excellent, and getting better and better. So we will need to Sac harder."
On the increasing DD of men's diving:
"For females, who are not as capable as male divers, we should focus on consistency and not only on the DD."
On competing at home in the 2008 Olympics:
"I don't think this will affect my performance. It will be alright if we are well-prepared and improve our consistency.'
Julia Pakhalina (RUS) - Silver medalist
On their performance:
"We didn't do well and we could have done better. Now, we need to rest and recover."
On her future:
"I will probably continue on diving for years."
On her impression of the venue:
"I like the venue, but some things need to be looked at, as there is a lot of water everywhere."
Anastasia Pozdnyakova (RUS) - Silver medalist
On the Chinese team:
"Obviously, the Chinese team are the best."
On their expectation for the Olympics:
"We cannot be sure of that right now, we will see about that later."
Ariel Rittenhouse (USA) - Bronze medalist
On her future goals:
"I love to dive, but I don't see myself doing it forever."
On dive selection:
"3 of the dives were optional, so for the others, we decided to go for the hardest ones and it got us near the top."
On her family:
"Actually, our parents are in California, but we know they are both very proud of us. The US team selection for this competition was held at short notice, so they couldn't make it."
On their completion:
"The Chinese are an amazing team. Ever since I started diving, they have always brought something more to the pool. They were very hard competitors, but it pushed us to work harder on our dives."
