Sascha Klein (GER) - Gold medalist
On his performance:
"I'm happy with my performance, both in the preliminaries end the finals. I managed to keep calm which was a big help. The feeling after winning was indescribable."
On how he started diving:
"I started my diving career at eight years old. Previously, I played tennis and gymnastics."
On his last dive (5255B, DD 3.8, scoring 108.30):
"I just focused on the details and tried to do the same as in training."
On 109C (his second dive, DD 3.5, scoring 98.00):
"I've been practicing it for quite a long time. I used this dive in domestic events, but this was my first try at 109C an international event. It is a really difficult dive, and I think it will be quite important for me to improve my accuracy on it."
On his feeling after winning the competition:

to calm down and do every dive well. Before the last dive, I didn't look at the scoreboard. I told myself to look at the score after the competition.
Zhou Luxin (CHN) - Silver medalist
On his performance:
"I underwent some changes to my mental outlook. Therefore, I failed to execute every dive perfectly. Generally speaking, my performance was average. My performance was average in general, not ideal. I didn't perform well on the 4th and 6th dives In this kind of competition, every dive counts. I was more nervous in the last World Championships. I have much more experience now, I know I must hold on and stay close with my rivals."
On his mental changes:
"After the Melbourne World Championships, we had a lot of pressure after failing to win the gold medal in this event. We needed a competition like this World Cup to give us a boost in our encouragement. This is the last day of the World Cup. We've been practicing continuously since we returned from our intensive training in Jinan, Shandong Province. You know in a world class event, there must be some mental fluctuations. This is pretty normal."
On his teammate Hu Jia (CHN):
"I don't think I'm the underdog. I think I'm slightly better than him in training."
On his feeling before the last dive:
"I hadn't seen the score board before the end of the competition. But from the atmosphere of the crowd, I had the strong feeling that I had to be really good on my last dive."
On his relatively low DD:
"The coach had not made any plans to make changes. Personally, I feel I didn't dive well enough."
On his rivals:
"Many athletes had a close finish today. It is the state of mood that determines the results. What we have to do is to gave it our best shot."
On his expectations for the 2008 Olympic Games:
"We just need to do what we go through during training. The results will then come as expected."
David Boudia (USA) - Bronze medalist
On his performance:
"I'm very happy with my perfommance tonight. I was very anxious at the start of this event, but I knew if I gave it my all, it was very possible for me to win a medal."
