(Beijing, 24 Feb.) - Comments from Jose Guerra (CUB), Lin Yue and Thomas Daley (GBR) after the men's 10m platform semifinals at the National Aquatics Center.
Jose Guerra (CUB) - 2nd place
On the big splash off his fifth dive (307C, DD 3.4, scoring 81.60):
"I was tired at that time, and didn't catch clear sight of the surface."
On the Chinese divers:
"They are powerful divers whom I admire, and I am motivated to beat them."
Lin Yue (CHN) -10th place
On his performance:
"My performance was rather bad. I did not warm up well in the morning. So far, my coach hasn't said much about it"
On the finals:
"I will make some adjustments and get into better shape for tonight."
Thomas Daley (GBR) - 9th place
On his school life:
"My school allows me to be away and travel for competitions, and some divers help me with my works. I make sure to do both, school is as important as diving."
On his idol:
"I look up to Alexandre Despatie (CAN) and follow in his footsteps."
On his father's support:
"My father kept the news about his brain tumour from me when I competed two years ago. Had he told me, it would have been much harder for me, but he's much better now."
On his family:
"I have two younger brothers who like sports as well, I think family support is very important."
On the media:
"In Britain, I get a lot of media attention, so I'm not nervous when I face the media."
On increasing the DD of his dives:
"For my age, the dives I perform are difficult enough. As I grow older and stonger, I will choose some difficult dives."
