Beijing, 22 Feb - Comments from finalists and coach after the men's synchronized 10m platform final.

Thomas Finchum (USA) - 6th place

On tomorrow's individual diving competition:

"I will have to do my best and have fun tomorrow in individual."

On their height difference:

"I don't think the difference between our heights affects us at all."

On his plans after the competition:

"We will get ready to go home and begin training."

Tong Hui (AUS) - Australian Coach

On their performance in the Finals:

"As a coach, I'd say that they did very well - they just returned from retirement. Rob came back at the end of last Judy."

"Matthew has a fractured ankle and it is still healing. For Mathew, this is the first international competition in a long while since he didn't compete at all last year."

On his expectations for the Olympic Games:

"I hope that both of them will go to the Olympics. This (The World Cup) is stepping-stone for them and things can only go one step at a time."

"As to Rob, he will compete in 3m Springboard Synchro at the Olympic Games. He is working and has two kids. He is older and his body doesn't recover as quickly as four years ago."

Robert Newbery (AUS) - 5th place

On his third dive (5252B, DD3.4) for which they got 76.50 points:

"This was due to the crowd being too noisy."

On what he will do after retiring:

"I will keep studying medicine until 2010, because being a doctor is as challenging as doing sports."

Mathew Helm (AUS) - 5th place

On his injuries:

"I am currently carrying injuries to my ankles, and I also injured my right thumb this mornings for which I visited the hospital today (he is putting a bag of ice on his wrist as we speak), so I didn't perform very well tonight."

On his performance:

"I do not regret the fact that we didn't get a medal tonight."

On preparing for this competition:

"I had a good preparation for about 5 weeks coming into this competition after my long break."

On his expectation for the Olympics:

"I will come here to win medals. The Chinese are excellent, so I aim to win silver or bronze in Olympics."

On the venue:

"It's an excellent venue, which really blows you away. Everything (the facilities and services) here is great."
