Beijing, 21 Feb - Comments from Pavlo Rozenberg (GER) and Troy Dumais (USA) after the men's 3m springboard finals at the National Aquatics Center.
Pavlo Rozenberg (GER)
On his performance:
"It was a really fierce competition. Many divers were perfect, like those from China and Mexico. I was very satisfied with my performance. It is the first time for me to represent Germany. It marks a new start for me."
On returning after last appearing internationally at the 2002 Grand Prix:
"I lived in Germany then and I was trying to obtain German nationality. According to the rules, I didn't attend international competitions for a period. But I took part in national competitions in Germany while I was waiting for my German nationality test. Thankfully, my time came."
On his diving preference:
"I favor a standing start in the first round. That's why I chose 5253B with DD3.5 as an opening."
On his expectations for the 2008 Olympic Games:
"I think I will be qualified for the 2008 Olympics. But this will be decided during the Germany Olympic trials in June or July."
Troy Dumais (USA)
On climbing the ranks:
"I made the competition a form of fun. I had no expectations and just took it one round at a time."
On his concerns:
"It was concerned about my first dive, I missed it during the Semifinals but after landing it, it set the tone for the rest of the competition."
On missing the 10 meters companion:
"I miss the 10 meters. I wish I was up there."
On why he dives:
"It is the most energetic thing you can do, summer days you can jump in the water, cold days you can jump in a hot tub."
On the competition:
"The Chinese are great divers and they can find the vertical on any dive when they hit the water."
On his brother:
"My brother no longer dives. He flies for the Air Force."
