Chinese pair claims w. 10m platform title

(Beijing, February 21) With a five-round total of 375.66pts China's Wang Xin/Chen Ruolin nabbed the women's 10m platform title of the "Good Luck Beijing" 16th FINA Diving World Cup at the National Aquatics Center this evening. Canadian duo Emilie Heymans/Marie-Eve Marleau took the silver with 340.05 while Melissa Wu/Briony Cole of Australia had to settle for third with 334.80.

China's Wang/Chen scored 114.00 after their first two dives, followed by Melissa Wu/Briony Cole and German pair Nora Subschinski/Annett Gamm.

The Chinese set up a commanding lead in the next two rounds as they led Emilie Heymans/Marie-Eve Marleau by a big margin of 28.47 points with one round remaining to secure the win.

In the last round, Australians Melissa Wu/Briony Cole got the same score as the Canadians did in the same dive, 80.58 in 5253B (DD 3.4), and had to be content with the third place for trailing by 5.25 in total.

Following the top three are teams from Germany, Mexico, DPR Korea, Britain and the United States.
