

(Beijing, February 21) China's He Chong had little trouble in winning the men's 3m springboard gold of the "Good Luck Beijing" 16th FINA Diving World Cup at the National Aquatics Center this evening. His teammate Qin Kai and Mexican Yahel Castillo placed second and third respectively. Canadian Alexandre Despatie, who had led the semifinals this afternoon, lost his edge and finished fifth.
He Chong, German Pavlo Rozenberg and Qin Kai formed the top three of the 12 finalists after the first dive. Alexandre Despatie of Canada moved up to the second spot via three dives, trailing He Chong by 8.95 points, but then slipped to fifth two rounds later.
Yahel Castillo of Mexico produced a dive earning the highest mark in the finals, 105.30, to secure the silver and He Chong maintained his form to take the title.
American Troy Dumais sit in fourth while Germans Pavlo Rozenberg and Andreas Wels placed sixth and tenth tandem.
